Silent film of the Cycle of the Dikenga, five chapters from dawn to the return

A silent film plays as you scroll, in five chapters. First, dawn: a man wearing the black Tukula tee, the camera moving into the red and gold sun over his heart. Second, noon: a luminous palace courtyard where master weavers work rich indigo and gold cloth. Third, dusk: a wide river at golden hour, the sun burning on the water. Fourth, night: points of light gathering into a ring. Fifth, the return: the tee resting on ivory linen, its sun at the centre. The five chapters are written out below, and the collections follow.

Kalunga closes the circle and opens it again. Nothing here is a set: it is our story, and it goes on through us.

Why the clothes

Bana Bilaka means the children

Every tee and hoodie is printed on demand to reduce waste, shipped in compostable packaging, and made to outlast the season it was bought in.

The clothes are the medium. The story is the product.
